F.A.Q.

We believe detox should be completed. We don’t admit anyone actively using hoping to quit. You must screen clean for entry.

This is entirely up to the resident. Typically when certain goals are reached, be it finishing school or getting a driver’s license residents will weigh options. We have no set minimum or maximum.

Both! We are a co-ed program and all our houses are co-ed. Our shared rooms are not mixed but all our single rooms could be male or female at any time. We have never had an issue with this philosophy. We are able to accommodate most preferences by having several locations.

We have a good relationship with Haywood County and are a known program. However, probation and parole conditions are up to the government and the assigned officer. Please request transfer before intake.

All paths of recovery are welcome at Real World. Like any medication we would need to verify it is prescribed by a provider and being taken as prescribed. We do not administer, prescribe or recommend medications. We do expect our residents to take the advice of their health care professionals.

All of our locations are in Canton NC. Canton is a small mill town in WNC. It is walkable, has limited public transportation and all amenities. All our houses are local to the downtown hub. Canton is a 20 minute drive to Asheville and Waynesville.

We are happy to pick up for admission and drop off for discharge. Daily transportation is not provided. Residents with vehicles and our staff can be asked for rides and normally will help if given gas money. They are not required and transportation is not ensured. There is public transportation available.
